Everyone from Barack Obama to Anderson Cooper loves ice cream, especially in the summertime.

In 2010, the American ice cream industry generated $10 billion in revenue, according to research firm MartketLine. And there's no doubt a large scoop of sales come during the summer months.

In fact, nearly three decades ago, President Ronald Reagan declared July National Ice Cream month. And with record-high temperatures sweeping the nation, this year's ice cream season is in full swing.

Demand for frozen yumminess rose so high this year that Good Humor has been experiencing shortages of some of its classics such as the Toasted Almond and Chocolate Eclair ice cream bars, the Wall Street Journal reported in May. This has caused quite the ruckus among vendors and consumers alike.
