Claire Danes Remembers Method Acting For Her Preschool Teacher On 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' (VIDEO)

Claire Danes Has Been Method Acting Since Preschool

Claire Danes has been an actress for as long as she can remember. She was wowed audiences as a teenager on "My So-Called Life," and Thursday night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," Danes recalled a performance she gave more than a decade prior.

She said it happened at preschool when she was only three-years-old. Danes apparently wasn't very good at taking naps, but she wanted to impress her teacher. So she decided to pretend she was sleeping. But she did more than close her eyes and lay still. No, that might not be convincing enough.

"I remember that I had observed my mother twitching in her sleep," she said. "So I did these very subtle twitches and I remember thinking, like, that’s good."

Clearly Danes' early start at perfecting her craft has served her well. Almost twenty years after "My So-Called Life," Danes is still impressing fans and critics with her work on "Homeland," for which she's been nominated for an Emmy.

"Homeland" returns to Showtime on Sunday, September 30 at 10 p.m. ET. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
