Claudia Schiffer is making headlines again -- this time for her weight, after walking the red carpet at Cannes last week.
The Daily Mail writes that the 40-year-old supermodel and mom-of-three appeared "skinnier than ever" and "gaunt" in her lacy and sheer Dolce & Gabbana gown. RadarOnline.com called Claudia "shockingly thin" and consulted nutritionist Majid Ali who, note, "has not treated the model," but suggests that she shed pounds too quickly after the birth of her baby girl Cosima last year. Ali said, "You can tell it was done rapidly by the looseness of the skin around her arms and the gaunt look on her face. There also seems to be puff around her abs, which can happen when women diet too rapidly."
According to the Mail, Schiffer discussed body image in the fashion biz with Germany's Bunte magazine five years ago, saying, "I was one of the fattest when I started. Fashion looks good on thin models, but when you look at today's models you cannot help but think there's something wrong. They are way too thin. It is only bones that stick out. Models have always been thin, but today, they are even thinner, which is unbelievable."
