The most famous empty chair ever to receive its own meme has found a new, illustrious home in the office of one of the most powerful conservatives in America.
The chair, which was used by Clint Eastwood to punctuate an anti-Obama speech at the Republican National Convention this fall, is now housed at the office of RNC chairman Reince Priebus in Washington, CNN reports.
Priebus, a Wisconsin native, was elected as head of the Committee in 2011 and has been a powerful fundraiser for Republican interests.
CNN reports that Priebus "gets the joke" represented by the piece of rather nondescript furniture that nevertheless launched 1,001 jokes after the convention, including a mocking tweet from President Obama, a hilarious Colbert routine and the Internet phenomenon of "Eastwooding."
The RNC and Priebus will be rolling out a new and "ambitious plan" for the GOP in 2016 Thursday night in Charlotte, N.C., Slate notes.
No word yet on whether the chair will be allowed to tag along.
