Defiant cattle rancher Cliven Bundy is back, and he's calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to come to Nevada to have a conversation about race.
In a stilted video appearance with Kamau Bakari, an Independent America Party candidate who is challenging Rep. Dina Titus (D) in Nevada's 1st District, Bundy again delves into the topic of slavery, stating that a "man ought to be able to express himself without being called names."
"I know the black folks have had a hard time with the slavery, and you know, the government was in on it. The government is in on it again," he says.
Bundy and his followers held a standoff with Bureau of Land Management officials in April over years of uncollected grazing fees. The rancher refused to acknowledge federal authority on public lands, drawing attention from many conservatives who held him up as a hero. The dream was short-lived, however, when Bundy opened his mouth to express controversial views on race and slavery.
"I'm as sick as you are. I feel ashamed when I hear black folks whining about 'white folks this,' 'white folks that.' Always begging," Bakari, who is African-American, says in the video.
Bundy responds: "It's almost like black folks think white folks owe them something ... Mr. Eric Holder, this is one white man that's not scared to talk about race. I dare you to come to Las Vegas to come talk to us."
