CNN Reportedly Bringing 'Crossfire' Back In June: Deadline

"Crossfire" is reportedly returning to CNN in June, according to Deadline over the weekend.

The report comes after last week's reports that the network was thinking about reviving the show. Deadline's Dominic Patten spoke to sources who said that a revival is in fact in the works.

He said that the hosts have not been chosen yet and it is still unclear whether the show will run for half an hour, according to sources. As of now, the new version of "Crossfire" will have CNN personalities and contributors in the “left” and “right” roles on the political debate show.

"Crossfire" was one of CNN's most prominent shows, and aired from 1982-2005. Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala hosted the show at the time of its cancellation. Jon Stewart famously despised the show, and confronted the hosts on air. The moment was widely cited as a reason for the show's cancellation.
