CNN Fires News Editor Over Plagiarism

CNN has fired a news editor after an investigation found that she had plagiarized in about 50 stories.

The network said Friday that an investigation revealed "multiple instances of plagiarism" by Marie-Louise Gumuchian after an unpublished story last week was questioned during editing. Gumuchian worked in CNN's London bureau and covered stories on Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

The network said it has “removed the instances of plagiarism found in her pieces” and has even deleted entire articles. It told viewers that it regrets that the published stories did not live up to the standards of "trust, integrity and simply giving credit" at CNN.
