Colbert On Chris Christie 2012: He Has Become 'Shrödinger's Candidate' (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'Chris Christie Has Become Shrödinger's Candidate'

"As long as we don't know whether or not he's running, Christie is a lock to win the Republican nomination."

As much as the media would have us believe otherwise, Chris Christie is not now, nor has he ever been, running for president. But as Colbert pointed out on Tuesday, you couldn't help but love the "beautiful, delicate dance between Christie and the media," where Christie says, "I'm not running," and everyone else says, "he might be." Perhaps he really is Shrodinger's candidate, simultaneously running and not running, provided we never, ever open the box.

Unfortunately, Colbert opened that box and now he's left with a dead cat. Of course, the host points out, "A dead cat, might still be more appealing than Mitt Romney."

Watch the clip below and let us know if you think this finally puts the nail in the coffin of the Christie campaign that never was.
