There's a holy war going on. It's victim: Halloween.
Stephen Colbert took Christians to task Wednesday (Oct. 26) for sullying the sanctity of All Hallows Eve by attempting to create a Halloween alternative without all those "ungodly" symbols.
But Christians scared silly by Halloween are missing the point, Colbert says: Jesus was the original zombie.
