Colin Clark Gay Slur Apology: Houston Dynamo Midfielder Sorry For Calling Ball Boy 'Faggot' (VIDEO)

Houston Dynamo midfielder Colin Clark took to the Twitter airwaves on Saturday, apologizing for a gay slur directed at a ball boy.

During a 2-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders on Friday night, ESPN writes that Clark was caught on a video replay, calling him a "faggot" before making a throw-in.

"I'd like to offer a sincere apology to everyone who watched the game, especially the ball boy for whom I used awful language towards," Clark tweeted. "I didn't mean to disrespect anyone and am sorry for letting my emotions get the best of me. It's not who I am and it won't happen again."

The Sporting News notes that Clark also sent an apology to @gay4soccer, a website that brings attention to the issue of homophobia in soccer.

“I'm very sorry for my actions tonight, and I would love for you to consider me a #soccerally moving forward,” Clark tweeted.

After spending his first five seasons with the Colorado Rapids, Clark is in his third season with the Dynamo. Major League Soccer is "conducting a thorough review" of the incident, with possible discipline still to come for Clark.
