"The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name."
- Confucious

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) voluntarily served two tours of combat duty in Iraq and currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee.

In a televised interview, she explained that the White House along with bipartisan Congressional support drove the overthrow of Libyan leader Kaddafi leading to the strengthening and spread of the radical Islamic terrorists known as ISIS. The same people in Congress are pushing for the overthrow of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, and we will see the same negative result. Likewise spying on U.S. citizens is not effective and stretches our resources rather than addressing the true problem.

"Every soldier knows this simple fact: If you don't know your enemy, you will not be able to defeat him."

She asserts the United States must identify the single common element of the various credible terrorist threats around the globe. They are "fueled by this radical Islamic ideology." The proper response to radical Islamic terrorism is to defeat the threat both militarily and ideologically.

She advocates military action -- truly arm and equip an alliance with Jordan, Egypt, Kurds, and other allies. A political solution must recognize the ideological war. Let potential joiners of radical Islamic terrorist groups know they will be defeated, and the promises of joy in the afterlife are a false promise.
