Consumer Confidence at Record Low

This morning, the consumer confidence survey fell to an all-time low in October. The reading came in today at 38 for October compared to a reading of 61.4 in September. This is the lowest reading on record and the lowest since they began measuring consumer confidence for the past 40 years.

The Consumer Confidence Survey is based on a representative sample of 5,000 U.S. households.
This number is reported every month. It's exactly what it describes -- a measurement of the confidence that the consumer has out there.

It would seem very difficult for McCain to get elected if the country has absolutely no confidence in spending money because they fear that business conditions are worsening. There is only one item that individuals want to buy right now and that's change!! Only one candidate is offering that opportunity to make such a purchase and all it will cost you is a vote for Obama.
