Corey Trivino Arrested: Boston University Hockey Star Faces Rape, Indecent Assault Charges

College Hockey Star Arrested, Charged With Assault With Attempt To Rape

Boston University hockey star Corey Trivino was arrested on Sunday and charged with three counts of indecent assault and battery, along with one count of assault with attempt to rape and two counts of breaking and entering in the nighttime, Art Jahnke of BU Today reports.

Trivino was arrested by Boston University Police around 11 p.m. after he allegedly "pushed his way into the room of a female student" while intoxicated and started groping her against her will.

The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty on Monday. The Boston Hockey Blog reports that Trivino had to surrender his Canadian passport but was released without bail. If he wanted to use the passport, then he would need to post a bail of $25,000.

BU head coach Jack Parker said Trivino is "no longer associated with the BU hockey team."

According to The Daily Free Press, Parker suspended Trivino and teammate Vinny Saponari back in March after they showed up late to a bike ride. The bike ride was said to be punishment for an alleged incident in which a handful of Terriers went out drinking on St. Patrick's Day. Trivino was underage at the time.

Trivino leads Hockey East with 13 goals in 15 games and was selected by the New York Islanders in the second of the 2008 draft. Long considered a top talent, Trevino was named the Ontario Hockey Association's top prospect in 2008.
