"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis didn't want to participate in an anger-release exercise on "Couples Therapy," which had the participants smashing things. But Joe said he didn't want to do it because he "doesn't believe in violence."
This from the guy who started a fight with housemate Flavor Flav last week over Flav announcing his girlfriend's pregnancy to the house. Needless to say, Joe's fellow participants thought he was lying.
“I think Joe and Abbey are more afraid of tarnishing their ‘perfect’ image," said Temple Poteat. "You said, they’re gonna play this over on ‘Talk Soup’ and everything else and make you look crazy.”
But Joe kept turning it back around on her. "Please don’t project what you tell me and say that we were talking about it.”
“You said it first!” Temple insisted.
Joe denied that he was concerned about his image. He said his disinterest had more to do with the abuse he suffered as a child. But he is concerned about something to do with the show. After last week's episode, he sent a profanity-laced email to the show's therapist, Dr. Jenn Berman. In it, he called her a "fraud" and alleged that she planted lies to create that fight with Flavor Flav.
Berman's response came via an interview with VH1. She denied planting lies and said, "I get that a lot of people have betrayed Joe in his life, and his expectation is that people will, but this was not that. Despite what he said about me in the media, I care about Joe and Abbey and I will continue to be available to them if I can be helpful, and I hope at some time he does reach out to me so he can get the proper information.”
