'Covert Affairs': Auggie's Promotion Was A Secret, And Also Proves Very Short-Lived (VIDEO)

Auggie Kept A Big Secret From Annie

Auggie got a big promotion on "Covert Affairs," but it led to some friction in his relationship with Annie -- he didn't tell her about it beforehand.

“Everyone please congratulate the new interim head of the DPD, Auggie Anderson," Joan said. Annie couldn't believe that he hadn't told her, but Auggie insisted it was because he was sworn to secrecy.

Almost as quickly as he was elevated to his new position, Auggie was relieved of duty. After two deaths on his watch, he was removed as interim DPD and replaced by Calder. Gather's Amy Outland pointed out that "neither Annie nor Auggie like or trust Calder very much. And they'll probably trust him even less when he becomes Annie's new handler.”

Still, TV Fanatic's Carla Day thinks that everything that happened has happened for a reason. "For now, Annie and Auggie are in the best spot they've been in," she wrote. "With Auggie's secrets (though, he probably has a few more) revealed and through the troubles, they are closer than ever.”
