'Cowboys And Aliens' Trailer: Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford Star (VIDEO)

James Bond, Indiana Jones Fight Aliens In Summer Blockbuster

It's the ultimate genre mashup: sci-fi and western. And its got the ultimate team for the job: James Bond and Indiana Jones/Han Solo.

Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford star in the wild summer blowout film, "Cowboys & Aliens," based on the graphic novel of the same name by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. Directed by comic-to-big screen expert Jon Favreau, the film features Craig as Jake Lonergan, a rebel who wakes up in a strange town as a wanted man. Only problem is, he can't remember where he came from or what he did.

Colonel Woodrow Dolarhyde, a cold hearted tyrant played by Ford, gets him in his grasp, only to have all hell break loose when invaders from the sky come down. That's when the action starts, and two fabled action heroes get to team up to fight off the invading starships.

Co-starring "Tron" star Olivia Wilde (who has a well thought out nude shot, Favreau promises), Sam Rockwell and Paul Dano, "Cowboys & Aliens" is one of many comic-based blockbusters this summer, though it's unique in its recent lineage and lack of a traditional superhero.

Favreau spoke about how he envisioned the film in February, saying, "There's a level of fun, but that doesn't mean we have to wink. The characters aren't having fun, but the audience is. We wanted to maintain the integrity of both genres, and focus on a specific aspect of the alien genre which mostly revolves around the films of the '80s that I grew up with."

The film hits theaters on July 29th.
