One of the main trends in real estate -- especially as it touches startups -- has been the proliferation of coworking spaces. NYC is on the forefront of this trend and by last count there are more than 30 of them spread throughout the city.

Coworking is a style of work which involves a shared working environment, sometimes an office, yet it is an independent activity. It has become very popular on both coasts as new companies and entrepreneurs are popping up almost daily. Coworking in New York City has become a vital part of the city and acting as an entrepreneurial hub. It not only allows for cheaper rent, but only a collaborative environment to help keep first time entrepreneurs around other seasoned entrepreneurs for advice and to help avoid classic mistakes.
