Craft Of The Day: Chalkboard Necklace

Leave A Note...With A Necklace?

With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we've got love notes and, well, jewelry on the brain, which makes this Craft Of The Day perfect! We love the idea of skipping the card and writing a sweet note directly on the necklace itself, and we think little girls would especially enjoy it. Keep reading for the how-to.

What You'll Need
Chalkboard paint
Pendant necklace (this is a bezel pendant on a chain)
Ribbon
Glue
Painter's tape
Chalk
Newspaper

How To Make It
1. Use the painter's tape to tape your pendant flat against newspaper (covering any areas you want to keep free of chalkboard paint).
2. Apply one coat of chalkboard paint (with a brush or spray paint), wait 3-4 minutes and apply another coat.
3. Let dry (for a few hours) and then remove the tape.
4. Tie a bow with ribbon and secure it to the top of the pendant with glue.
5. If you removed the chain to paint, string it back through the pendant.
6. Write a message and give this adorable necklace to your loved one!
