Emeli Sandé's cover of Beyonce's hit song "Crazy in Love" has made its debut. The UK popstar recorded the track with The Bryan Ferry Orchestra for the upcoming "Great Gatsby" soundtrack.
Originally released in 2003 as a single off of Beyonce's debut solo album, "Dangerously in Love," "Crazy in Love" was covered by the 26-year-old Sandé. The song begins with the orchestra playing the chorus that Bey sang in the original track, leading into Sandé's rendition of Beyonce's lyrics -- take a listen above.
Born Adele Emeli Sandé Gouraguine, the singer is a major force in the UK, nabbing the Brit Awards for Best Female Solo Artist and British Album of the Year earlier this year. She has recently made moves towards the U.S. charts, hitting cities across the country this summer as a part of a U.S. tour.
"I'm really excited about taking music over to the States because it's a brand new challenge," Sandé told Reuters this week.
Sandé's song for the film was hyped earlier this month when Interscope released the tracklist for the "Gatsby" soundtrack. "Crazy in Love" isn't the only cover on the soundtrack to the upcoming "Great Gatsby." Led by Jay-Z, the album also features a cover of late singer Amy Winehouse's hit song, "Back to Black" by Beyonce and Outkast alum André 3000. The polarizing track had Winehouse collaborator Mark Ronson singing its praises, while the late singer's father, Mitch Winehouse spoke out against the cover.
The soundtrack hits stores on May 7, three days before the release of Baz Luhrmann's "Gatsby."
