Do you want customers who “get your business” and freaking obsess over it? Good. Then read this article.

As good ‘ol James says, it is important to know what your core values are, as a business, to catch those customers who will spread your brand and add value to your business.

Content marketing is a wonderful way to drive new customers and help you identify who you are as a business. You have to make sure that your social media presence (blog posts, tweets, images, etc.) correspond to your values and who you are as a business. You can accomplish this by creating content themes. The good news is: customers already give you all you will ever need when they post and share content that interests them. You just need to pick out the themes that line up with your business values. Strong themes help build the bridge between your companies’ value and your customers’ interests. It is best to pick between 3-5 themes that navigate your brand identity.

Most of the content you create should live within these themes.

Like a man in an igloo, you want to stay in your right climate to remain connected to your customers.

The themes you create should be different enough that they don’t bump into each other, while still communicating a clear vision that engages customers.

A perfect example is Mother’s Market & Restaurant.
Mother’s Market & Kitchen, a natural foods market, and restaurant. They state that “truth, beauty and goodness manifested in the context of natural foods markets and restaurants” is what in every store their business strives to maintain. They looked at their customers content and made four themes from it: Natural Made, Clean Living, Freshly Sourced, Living Good.

From those themes, they tailored all their content across all platforms to fit within those poles. Mother Market and Kitchen has garnered a dedicated and “obsessed” customers base which in one man’s tweet has said, “I am with you till the ship goes down.”

As long as you stay within your poles and remain faithful to your identity, your customers will go bananas over your brand.
