'Criminal Minds' Season 9 Cast: A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness Could Leave Show (REPORT)

"Criminal Minds" Season 9 could see another major cast shakeup.

Much of the cast of "Criminal Minds" has been in negotiations with CBS and producer ABC Studios for new Season 9 contracts -- which is why the show wasn't renewed when CBS announced early renewals of its other shows -- but now reports of final deals have surfaced with key members rejecting them. Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook are all in negotiations.

TVLine reports Gibson and Mantegna are close to signing the new deal with Moore still in talks. However, Vangsness and Cook are reported to have outright rejected the offers and are seeking pay that matches their male co-stars. The two are said to be negotiating together. Matthew Gray Gubler and Jeanne Tripplehorn's contracts are not up for renewal.

Deadline reports the deals need to be signed by end of day Tuesday, May 7 for CBS to renew the popular crime drama. Series showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer recently signed a new deal to stay with the series.

A spokesperson for "Criminal Minds" had no comment.
This isn't the first time "Criminal Minds" has had contract drama.

The series faced fan backlash after Cook and the series parted ways before Season 6 and former star Paget Brewster's episode count was reduced. Both Cook and Brewster eventually returned fulltime, but Brewster then left again after Season 7.
