Crowdrise: Ed Norton Launches Fundraising And Volunteerism Site

Actor Ed Norton and a boatload of other prominent names have come together to launch Crowdrise, a volunteering and social good website where individuals (and celebrities) can create personalized fundraising pages for specific causes.

From the website:

Crowdrise is about volunteering, raising money for charity and having the most fun in the world while doing it. Go here to see a beautiful picture showing How Crowdrise Works. Go here if you want to see an even more beautiful Picture of a Napkin.

The pun-filled website grew out of Norton's Massai Marathon, an effort to protect wildlife in Kenya and Tansania. The campaign benefited from online promotion, and raised $1.2 million in less than eight weeks, with an overwhelming percentage coming from small donations.

Just a few of the celebrities who already have Crowdrise fundraising pages:

Kristen Bell, raising money for human rights organization Invisible Children and The Art of Elysium.
