'CSI': Marg Helgenberger Shot At In Her Penultimate Episode (VIDEO)

Marg Helgenberger Shot At In Second-To-Last 'CSI' Episode

It looks like the writers for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (Wed., 10 p.m. EST on CBS) want to ensure Marg Helgenberger goes out with a bang. In her second-to-last episode as Catherine Willows, there were all sorts of bangs, as what looked like an elite team of assassins sprayed her home with gunfire. Willows managed to grab her gun, fire off a few shots and get out of there in one piece.

With the bad guys close behind, she ran out the front door to thankfully find Russell pulling up. Clearly, he'd figured something out relating to their case -- the shooting seemed to tie to it as well -- that gave him the heads up that going to Willows' place was probably a good idea. And it was.

She probably wouldn't have made it to safety had he not been there. Especially when she pulled up her shirt to reveal that she'd taken at least one bullet in the side.

This two-parter continues next week when Helgenberger will wrap her eleven-and-a-half year run as Catherine Willows. It seems unlikely that she'll go quietly after this explosive -- both emotionally and literally -- penultimate episode.

Marg Helgenberger's final episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" airs Wednesday, January 25 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
