The Best Writing Tool Ever?

When you sit down to scribe a killer essay or your take on The Great American Novel, do you usually wind up with a headache, a blank page and a disenchanted outlook on your craft? Luckily for you, writing just got a lot fuzzier. A new website has discovered the cure for writer's block: Cute cats!

The converse of the popular app, "Write or Die," which supplies the wordsmith with threats when they stop typing for too long (common warnings include "unpleasant sounds" or phrases like, "keep writing or your work will unwrite itself"), Written? Kitten! provides an image of an adorable cat for every 100, 200, 500 or 1,000 words you complete.

With photos supplied by Flickr, the app is a great motivator for the daunting page counts required for National Novel Writing Month, for which participants are urged to complete 50,000 words before November 30.
