Daft Punk 'Get Lucky' Loop Isn't A Leak; Viral Edit Of New Song Fools Stereogum

New Daft Punk Song 'Leaks,' But Not Really

Understandably, many are eagerly anticipating Daft Punk's new album "Random Access Memories." The first single, "Get Lucky," has been released incrementally (first 15 seconds, then a minute), and both tidbits have been looped and "remixed" by fans.

However, one such edit that rippled across the Internet this morning was apparently so convincing that it fooled music blog Stereogum into claiming it was the genuine article.

How daft of them!

A blogger that goes by Agares posted a cut of the new song to his Tumblr, labeling it an "extended studio version." The cut appears to be a loop that combines vocals from the teaser for the song that ran on "Saturday Night Live" and the preview of "Get Lucky" that premiered at Coachella.

Still, it was enough to get people reposting.

Twitter user Kyle Read, who describes himself as a "graphic designer and lettering artist," took the remix viral when he reposted the cut to his Tumblr, declaring, in all-caps: "OH GOD, IT’S THE WHOLE SONG AND IT IS AMAZING."

It is not the whole song, but it isn't that bad -- even if, as Idolator pointed out, "it doesn’t quite go anywhere."

"Random Access Memories" is out May 21.
