What: Pick up locally grown produce and a new furry best friend at Much Love's Sunday adoption event, conveniently located across the way from the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
Why: Even commitmentphobes can do a good deed by fostering a kitty or pup until a forever home is secured.

Taste America
What: From food trucks and brews to wine and award-winning cuisine, L.A.'s culinary heavy hitters join the James Beard Foundation in feting the Southland's impressive range of edibles.
Why: You have Nobu taste on a Let's Be Frank budget.

Intro to Floral Design Class
What: Hit Flour L.A.'s new bloom room, tour Downtown's epicenter of fresh buds, and walk away with some floral art know-how.
Why: The course includes all the blossoms, vessels, and tools you'll need to appear pro.

Meatless Sundays at Willie Jane
What: Executive chef Govind Armstrong and chef de cuisine Ryan Costanza present their vegetarian-friendly take on Southern classics with a three-course dinner prix fixe. (A mini version of the regular menu is also available.)
Why: Indian summer rolls with pickled vegetable, a cauliflower couscous entree, and roasted almond cookies with date jam run you $26 (menu changes weekly).

What: Two international houses of high-end eyewear collide at Gogosha Optique when the West Third Street outpost hosts the iconic London label.

Milk Crafting 101
What: Up your dairy game and walk away with the skills to make your own fresh yogurt, creme fraiche, chevre, ricotta, and cottage cheese.
Why: After you cut your teeth on the basics, move on to Camembert, feta, and mozzarella in next month's follow-up course.
