Dan Savage On Gay Marriage Victories, Obama's Reelection And Tammy Baldwin

WATCH: What Did Dan Savage Think Of Election Night?

Calling the reelection of President Barack Obama "huge," Dan Savage praised the historic same-sex marriage victories in four U.S. states in a new interview with Joy Behar.

"This is the first election where marriage equality was on the ballot and voters approved it," the outspoken lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights advocate told Behar."I think what you saw...was the back broken. The anti-gay wedge issue no longer divides the Democrats. The wedge now is going to divide the GOP."

As for Tammy Baldwin, who became the first openly gay candidate elected to the U.S. Senate, Savage added, "What we’re going to want to see out of Tammy is a really great senator from Wisconsin who’s great on gay issues, but great on all sorts of issues that liberals, progressives and working people care about.”
