'Dancing With The Stars' Week Three Performances: The Good, The Bad & J.R.'s Emotional Tribute (VIDEO)

'DWTS': The Good, The Bad & J.R.'s Tribute

It was an emotional night in the ballroom as the "Dancing With the Stars" contestants chose a song from the most memorable years of their lives -- and for some, this meant tears -- a lot of tears.

But there was one performance that blew everyone away -- the judges, the audience, the viewers, even the contestants -- and that performance belonged to Iraq war veteran J.R. Martinez, who shared his harrowing story for the first time on the show.

Seriously, everyone had tears.

After serving two months as an United States Army infantryman in Iraq, J.R. was badly injured when his Humvee hit a landmine. He slipped into a coma and had intense burns on over 40 percent of his body, lost most of the hair on his head and one of his ears. He spent over two years in the hospital recovering and had 33 surgeries to repair the damage to his skin.

But just when you thought that was as tear-jerky as it would get, J.R. decided to dedicate his somber yet emotionally moving rumba to all of the fallen heroes -- the ones that didn't get a second chance. Tim McGraw's 'If You're Reading This' has never felt more heartfelt. Martinez rightfully earned the longest standing ovation in 'DWTS' history.

And then Carrie Ann started crying. Of course bad cop Len had to find something negative to say about the dance, which I believe deserved the first 10 of the season.

However, Ricki Lake and Derek Hough came out on top AGAIN. Seriously, can anyone stop Ricki? She's pretty lucky she has Derek for a partner because he's been putting together the best choreography of the season.

Chynna Phillips also had a great night, dancing to her own song "Hold On." Well, it was the song that made her famous and shot her into cultural relevance -- and it's made a huge comeback this year thanks to "Bridesmaids."

Then, there was Chaz.

In the beginning, I was rooting for Chaz -- and not because of his dancing skills -- but because, despite it all, he had spirit and he let that shine. He wasn't the best dancer, but he looked like he was having fun. But somehow, it looks like that spirit is gone, and now Chaz just looks flat. Not to mention, Chaz and his partner Lacey Schwimmer are the most tense couple this season. Seriously, are either one of these two having any fun out there?

Could his poor little rumba be his swan song this week? Or is it Nancy's time to go? Tune into the results show Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8PM ET on ABC.
