Danielle Coughlin Of Massachusetts Becomes 4th Female Wrestler To Win A State High School Title

WATCH: She's On Top Of High School Wrestling

February was a great month for females in male-dominated sports. The 9-year-old football phenom Sam Gordon capped her spectacular season with an appearance at the Super Bowl. Then Danica Patrick won the pole position for the Daytona 500 and finished eighth in the race on Sunday.

What high school wrestler Danielle Coughlin accomplished last week was also impressive. She became just the fourth girl to win a state high school wrestling championship and the first in Massachusetts, ABC Boston affiliate WCVB reported.

Coughlin, competing in the 106-pound class for North Andover High School, has won more than 100 matches in her high school career. She told the station (watch above) that she wants to be known as a hard worker and called the triumph "definitely the best moment of my life."

The Boston Globe noted that Couglin also helped her team capture the Division 2 state title. In an early round, Coughlin pinned her male opponent with just two seconds left.

Coughlin said to the Globe: "I knew it was up to me not just individually but for my team to come out as state champs."
