This large drawing is inspired by my long term practice of planning fictional cities and is the signature piece in my upcoming solo exhibition, “DannielleTegeder: Painting in the Extended Field,” at the Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College. Later, I turned this work into an animation. When my daughter was a newborn and I couldn’t be in the studio, I began to experiment with animation technology. I took several of my large drawings and scanned them. I then choreographed an animated deconstruction and reordering of several of my drawings set to the soundtracks of four contemporary composers.
