Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman Split: Actress Harbors No Hard Feelings

Why Rhea Perlman Walked Away From Danny DeVito

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman shocked their fans earlier this month when they announced they were splitting after 30 years of marriage. But according to Radar, Perlman harbors no hard feelings -- despite DeVito's reported "wandering eye."

"There's no bitterness between Danny and Rhea, because they are still close friends," a source told the website. "Their matrimony just ran its course. Danny's flirting and inappropriate behavior with other women infuriated Rhea; she just felt that it was time for her to move on with her life."

The source also painted a different picture of DeVito from his characters in "Junior" and "It's Always Sunny in California." "Danny's actually quite the flirt and ladies' man. Like a lot of red-blooded males, if he sees an attractive girl in a coffee shop or walking down the street, he will give her the eye."

DeVito, 67, and Perlman, 64, married in 1982. They first met in 1970, after the "Cheers" actress saw DeVito in a production of the Broadway show "The Shrinking Bride." The former couple have three children together, Lucy, Daniel and Grace.

On Oct. 8, the couples' rep Stan Rosenfield confirmed their split to "Entertainment Tonight," but said the next day that a third party was not to blame. "Whatever you may read is a fabrication. Nobody knows the real reason because they have not shared it with anyone," Rosenfield told the New York Daily News.
