It light of what's been happening in our world, and especially after Nov. 13 when the people of Paris were attacked by Isis, it is more important than ever to remain open. Yes, open.

I'm aware that more tragic events have occurred in other parts of the world since then, and this is why I insist you dare to stay open -- the world needs you!

Our first impulse as humans is to shut down, close our hearts, and rage from righteous anger. Our human ego is dead set on being right, at all costs, and its hold will not loosen for anything. That is, except when Love is present.

Love is and always has been the answer. We proclaim it, we preach it, we desire it, and we don't always stand by its power. We forget that we are Love! Love is the most powerful frequency on the planet and it dissolves all blockages.

Since the reports of the killings, I have read a barrage of posts that are filled with knee-jerk reactions of hate, anger, fear, and sadness. I understand this and how about we do something else in response?

Instead of reacting and spewing the hate fuel on the blaze of rage, lets respond by removing ourselves, getting quiet, breathing deeply and being with what's inside us? I dare you. And I promise you that this will be the most powerful action you can take to contribute to peace on earth.

Be with and breathe through the hate, anger, fear, and sadness. Pay attention to where it is in your body as you breathe. Notice how the energy within you (emotions are energy in motion) moves to another place within your body. Keep breathing. Breathe until it passes up and out of you. Discover what else comes up for you. Be with all of it. All of it.

You might find that your anger comes from something that happened long ago and was never able to be fully expressed. You may realize that your anger has nothing to do with what's happening in the world and that those incidents are triggers for you to address your own emotions.

What I've come to witness is that there is so much unexpressed rage in our fellow human beings and it's blowing up all over the place -- in schools, theaters, cities, Planned Parenthood clinics, in the media, all over social networks, in people's homes, on the freeway, everywhere. And we can do something about it. We can take care of our own emotions -- the rage, the anger, the sadness, the fear -- and then respond with Love.

All that's happening right now in the world that's causing you stress, anxiety, fear, sadness, and anger is a call for Love. How are you going to answer?

Be the peace you wish to experience in the world. Start with yourself. Start within. This simple step will bring you back to your heart, give you clarity, and guide you on what right action step to take next. The calm within you will help you navigate and be effective in an otherwise insane, crazy world.

Love is the answer. Be responsible for your own heart and keep it open. I dare you.

HuffPost's GPS for the Soul app is based on two truths about human beings. First: We all have a centered place of wisdom, harmony and balance within us. Second: We're all going to veer away from that place, again and again and again. What we need is a great course-correcting mechanism -- a GPS for the Soul -- to help us find our way back to that centered place, from which everything is possible.

Because no one knows better than you what helps you de-stress and tap into that place of peace inside yourself, it's important for you to create your very own GPS guide -- a personalized collection of whatever helps you course-correct. Email us at GPS@huffingtonpost.com and we'll set you up with your very own HuffPost blogger account to share your guide on the site. If you're already a blogger, we encourage you to upload your personal guide today. We can't wait to see what you have to share.
