WATCH: Dave Grohl Directed A Movie

The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has released a first look at his documentary "Sound City."

As Billboard noted, "Sound City" will debut at the Sundance Film Festival and is the musicians first time in the director's chair.

The film is about Sound City, the Van Nuys, Calif., studio that served as the recording space for several musicians and groups, including Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty. Grohl's band Nirvana even recorded their album "Nevermind" in the iconic studio.

Grohl was inspired to create the film after purchasing the studio's Neve 8028 recording console in 2011. Sound City ceased its recording activities that same year, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The documentary features interviews from several famous rockers including Stevie Nicks, Petty and more.

Following its premiere at Sundance next month, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in February.
