David Arquette To Oprah: I Had My First Beer At Four Years Old

David Arquette: I Had My First Beer At Four Years Old

David Arquette is now working for sobriety, but it's been a lifelong battle for the star. Honestly, just about his entire life.

The star taped an interview with Oprah Winfrey, set to air on Thursday, and spoke about his longtime struggle with substance abuse -- Arquette went through a wild few months of partying in the fall after his separation from wife Courtney Cox.

"I had my first drink of beer, I must have been four years old," Arquette remembered. "I was down in the basement with my dad, and beer was there, and I just grabbed it and drank it, and I remember that, it's one of my earliest memories."

It wasn't just a one-time mistake, either; though he waited a few years, Arquette was a regular drinker from a very early age.

"I seriously started drinking probably when I was about twelve. Kids are doing a lot of stuff very early. I stole pot from my dad when I was eight years old."

In December, Arquette spoke with George Lopez about his long history of partying, saying "I've always been wild."

He goes on to talk about the intervention that Cox and his sister, Patricia Arquette, held for him after a trip to Miami. Arquette left rehab at the end of January after nearly a month of treatment.
