David Bowie On 'The Next Day': Singer Breaks Silence With 42 Words On The Project

FINALLY: David Bowie Breaks His Silence

David Bowie has been famously quiet about "The Next Day." He's been so tight-lipped, in fact, that not a single word from the singer about his comeback album made its way into the press -- until now.

Writer Ricky Moody convinced Bowie to send him a list of the words that organized his thinking -- a bit of a creator's flow-chart, if you will. "The Next Day" was a critical success and currently sits at an 82 percent approval rating on review aggregator website MetaCritic.

Though nearly everyone else close to Bowie has said he will not tour or perform in support of the record, the singer's Wife, Iman, seemed to hint that he woud.

The man who made Ziggy Stardust a household name was also recently spotted filming the music video for the album's title track. Gary Oldman is set to make an appearance. In paparazzi photos from the set, Bowie appears in a long robe.

Here are Bowie's 42 words. Let us know what sense you make of them in the comments section. For more, head ove to NME.
