David Fangupo, 348-Pound Running Back, Commits To University Of Hawaii (VIDEO)

WATCH: 348-Pound Running Back Runs Over Defenders

While it's hardly unusual for a college football player to tip the scales at more than 300 pounds, David Fangupo plays unlike any of the other gridiron behemoths across the country.

A high school senior who recently committed to the University of Hawaii, this 348-pounder went from playing on the offensive and defensive lines to being a ball carrier.

Per Max Preps, Fangupo rushed for 534 yards and six touchdowns for Kealakehe High School in Hawaii County, Hawaii, helping the Waveriders to a 10-2 record.

The video above shows a few highlights of Fangupo running over and dragging defenders for some long runs.

According to West Hawaii Today, Fangupo verbally committed to Hawaii last week after being offered a full-ride scholarship. BYU, Georgia Tech and Utah were said to have expressed interest.

"I felt like it was not real at the moment,"
said Fangupo, via West Hawaii Today. "I'm excited and feel blessed that they would do that for me."

We can only imagine what it would have been like to watch Fangupo go up against the enormous Isaiah Stokes.

MaxPreps believes that Fangupo "may be best suited for defensive tackle" in college. Defenders in the Mountain West must hope that turns out to be the case.
