A Little Boy Steps Into His Own Imagination (PHOTOS)

LOOK: A Little Boy's Imagination Comes To Life

David Niles's 9-year-old son, Nate, has been given a passport to his dream world. While the boy's fleeting obsessions -- tornadoes, for instance, and cephalopods -- may be no different from those of other children, thanks to his creative dad, they have been brought to life.

Niles, a videographer, web designer, photographer and musician who studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, has taken his son's interests and produced them in delightfully spectral, old-fashioned style photos that illustrate a small boy's place in his own imagination. He was already photographing his son's toys, the Massachusets dad told HuffPost, when he realized that they didn't give a full picture of the little boy's creative play.

"What I wanted to do was put him in the photograph," he says. A place we think everyone in the family should be.
