David Petraeus Heckled By Protesters Before CUNY Lecture

Protesters Heckle Petraeus On The Street

Protesters harassed retired Gen. David Petraeus before he gave a lecture at The City University of New York (CUNY), Mediaite reported on Monday.

The student activists surrounded and followed the former CIA director as he walked down a street in New York City, shouting "Petraeus out of CUNY" and "every class, David," suggesting their plans to continue protesting his classes.

As Petraeus crossed the street, a student yelled, "That's Petraeus, he's a war criminal!"

"Disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourself," said another.

Months after resigning from the CIA after evidence of an extramarital affair surfaced, Petraeus was offered a position as a visiting professor at the Macaulay Honors College at CUNY.

After word spread that the retired general was offered a six-figure salary, his pay was cut to one dollar to "keep the focus on the students, on the school and on the teaching, and not have it be about the money," his lawyer said.
