D.C.-Area Real Estate Listings: Houses With Generators

PHOTOS: Local Real Estate With Backup Generators

WASHINGTON -- If this year's storms and inclement weather have you longing for a home that is not completely reliant on public utilities, this slideshow's for you.

Each of these properties comes with a back-up generator -- but that's about all they have in common.

We've got a $1.8 million five-bedroom (with a hot tub) in Arlington and a much a more moderately-priced Fort Washington four-bedroom smack over a golf course's 11th hole. There's also a Baltimore condo with stunning views for just under $350,000 and a $15 million McLean castle with a large indoor swimming pool.

Us, we're trying to decide which of the two rural log cabins we like best -- we're also pretty fond of that far less rustic waterfront Annapolis home in the top photo.

Where do you want to ride out the next storm?
