'Deadliest Catch': Blackout Leaves Ship Adrift In Sea Of Ice

Training and experience are a fisherman's best friend on the treacherous waters worked on "Deadliest Catch" (Tue., 9 p.m. ET on Discovery). That's what Northwestern's Captain Sig Hansen told HuffPost in an extensive interview with the 20-year veteran. That's how he conquers fear, and that's how these men are able to keep calm in very dangerous situations.

The crew of The Wizard certainly found themselves in one of those on this week's installment, when their ship lost power. Adrift in a sea of ice in the pitch blackness of night, it was all they could do to try and figure out what was wrong. The crewmen even took to using the lights on the film crew's cameras to help them.

Ultimately, they were able to diagnose the problem and get the power restored, but things were pretty tense for awhile. 300 miles in the middle of nowhere is no place for a blackout, but even more importantly, it's no place to panic.

Catch new installments of "Deadliest Catch" every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on Discovery.
