If you thought the cosmetic world wasn't saturated enough with celebrity beauty lines, make way for the latest in is-this-really-necessary product launches: a nail polish line inspired by "Girls."
That's right, Lena Dunham, she of the bare face, has teamed up with Deborah Lippmann to shill a line of polishes paying tribute to her HBO show's characters. If you consider yourself a "Hannah," you can coat your nails in "Hapless Hunter Green" (*sigh*). More of a "Marnie" Or "Shoshanna"? Try Prim and Proper Pink or Virtuous Vivid Violet, respectively. Oh, and Jessa's shade is called "Bohemian Burgundy" because of course.
Think this doesn't sound like something the laid-back Ms. Dunham would do? Turns out, the actress is quite the nail polish enthusiast. "Deborah Lippmann's colors are irreverent and classy and I've always coveted them (and stolen them from my mother), so who better to embody the 'Girls' spirit in polish form," she said in a statement. "I've been wearing Hannah like it's going out of style." (*double sigh*)
To be honest, we can't quite wrap our heads around why all of these television and movie-themed cosmetic lines are necessary. We've seen everything from sparkly body powder for "True Blood" and punchy nail polishes for "The Hunger Games." (Not to be a killjoy, but did anyone even wear nail polish in that movie?) Justin Bieber even ventured into cosmetics. Like we said, most of these products seem a bit arbitrary and random, but that's just us.
