Deepak Chopra Sounds Off On Richard Dawkins: His 'Militant Atheism' 'Antagonizes People'

Deepak Chopra: Richard Dawkins' 'Militant Atheism' 'Antagonizes People'

Deepak Chopra and Richard Dawkins have famously quarreled over the existence of a God for years now, which is chronicled in Tom Roston's eBook The Quantum Prophets: Richard Dawkins, Deepak Chopra And The Spooky Truth About Their Battle Over God.

And it seems as though their feud won't be going away anytime soon: In a HuffPost Live interview on Tuesday, Chopra accused Dawkins' "militant" atheism of "antagonizing people."

"He's a fundamentalist," he told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "His version of realities is what we call empirical realities. That if you can see it, it's real. If you can't see it, it's not real."

"But we know, you can't see your thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires, imagination, creativity, choice -- and they're real," he continued, making a case for a non-visible God. "Your inner world is real."

Chopra's new book, The Future Of God, is out today.
