Deepak Chopra: The Bedroom Should Be Used 'For Only Sleep Or Sex'

The Only Things You Should Be Doing In Your Bedroom

Many turn to reading as a way of helping them fall asleep, but in a conversation with HuffPost Live on Thursday, Deepak Chopra outlined the only two things one should do in bed -- and reading isn't one of them.

"Use your bedroom for only sleep or sex," he declared. "Nothing else!"

"Don't watch television," he continued. "Don't even read in bed ... your mind should associate your bedroom with those two activities only: sleep or sex."

Chopra's tips for a good night sleep don't end there.

"The best way to improve sleep is to be very active during the day," he said. Keeping your bedroom cool, quiet and dark can also help, he said. "The darker your room is, the more it affects your melatonin levels."
