Delia Ephron On Collaborating With Nora: 'She Always Said We Shared Half A Brain'

Why Delia Ephron Will Never Collaborate Again

Delia Ephron worked with her sister Nora on beloved films like "You've Got Mail" and "Sleepless In Seattle," but she says it was also important for her to find her own voice.

"She was born a force," Ephron said in an interview with HuffPost Live. "I didn't know who I was 'til I was 32 and I wrote something called How To Eat Like A Child and I looked at it and thought 'oh, this is who I am.'"

Ephron, author of the new collection Sister Mother Husband Dog (Etc.), said that she always knew she had to write books so she could maintain a separate identity.

Still, she thinks about the advice Nora gave her every day.

"When I started to write about collaboration I thought, 'This may be the most important thing in life -- that you're able to do this with girlfriends, with friends, with your husband, that you can actually sort of collaborate on life," Ephron said.

Delia and Nora worked so well together that Delia doesn't think she would collaborate in the future. "She always said we shared half a brain."
