Demi Lovato Accused Of Using Autotune By 'X-Factor' Contestant (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'X-Factor' Contestant To Demi Lovato: That's Why You Use Auto Tune And I Don't

Ouch. It seems that "The X-Factor’s" newest celebrity judges are in for quite the welcome come Wednesday.

In a preview of the FOX show’s season premiere a contestant had some trouble accepting Simon Cowell’s infamous criticism.

“It’s just wrong,” Cowell tells the contestant at the beginning of the clip.

The judge’s full remarks and the performance that prompted them won’t be revealed until September 12. But it’s clear that the singer thinks pretty highly of himself.
"You know what? I worked way too freakin' hard for this,” the unnamed contestant tells Cowell.

The youngest addition to the panel, 20 year-old songstress Demi Lovato, interrupted the contestant to give him a little piece of her mind.

"A lot of people work really, really hard for their dreams, but it's not meant for everybody," Lovato said. To which the participant quickly retorted, "That's why you use auto tune and I don't."

Ow, that has to sting. Fellow judges chimed in to defend the star, Britney Spears even telling the contestant she felt “uncomfortable with you even staring at me” before he stormed off the stage declaring the show an “amateur hour.”

But this isn’t the first time Lovato’s vocal ability is questioned. Earlier this year, when Lovato and Spears were announced as the new X-Factor judges, E! News asked singer John Legend what he thought of the two stars joining the show.

"It's interesting when people, you know, are judging singing competitions when they aren't really singers," Legend said referring to Lovato and Spears.

The contestant's “auto tune” comment has generated memes, telling Lovato to “apply cold water to burned area.” The star has yet to defend herself, but it’s safe to assume she’ll be waiting until after Wednesday night to address the remark.
