Demi Lovato is giving back to the rehabilitation center that helped her overcome her health issues.

During an interview with Tracy Smith on CBS’ “Sunday Morning” (set to air on Sept. 11), the 24-year-old revealed that she has become a co-owner of the CAST Centers in Los Angeles. Lovato sought treatment at the facility in 2013 for depression, bulimia and substance abuse.

While in rehab, Lovato admitted she was “a nightmare.” Eventually, though, she was able to move past her issues, turning to faith for guidance.

“It sounds ridiculous but, like, I kind of made a pact with God,” Lovato told Smith. “And I don’t even think you’re supposed to do that, but I was, like, I promised, ‘If you make me a singer one day, I’m going to use my voice for so much more than singing, and I’m going to help people with it.’”

The former Disney star went on to explain that the reason she’s “sitting here right now alive and more successful than I’ve ever been” is because she took responsibility for her actions.

Since seeking treatment, Lovato has been very open about her struggles, often talking about her past in interviews and on social media.

To see Lovato’s full interview, tune in to “Sunday Morning” on Sept. 11 on CBS at 9 a.m.
