Demi Moore Beats Kevin Bacon To Win Pepsi Refresh Celebrity Challenge

In Kevin Bacon and Demi Moore's epic showdown to raise funds for their respective charities in the Pepsi Refresh Celebrity Challenge, Moore has won out, Tonic reports.

Moore's chosen charity, the New York City-based human trafficking organization, Girls Educational & Mentoring Services (GEMS), will receive $250,000 to empower American girls and young women who have experience commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking.

"The Pepsi Refresh Grant will allow GEMS to train 10 former victims as outreach workers and employ them to go back to their community and refresh the lives of thousands of victimized girls," Moore said in a press release announcing the award Monday afternoon. "I believe the work that GEMS is doing is nothing short of heroic!"

While Moore may have won with the support of her many Twitter followers, Bacon's own six degree network got a nod from Pepsi too:

Pepsi will award his SixDegrees.org a $100,000 grant, which the star will use to distribute thousands of $20 SixDegree.org Good Cards -- gift cards that individuals can use to support a charity of their choice.

Celebrities aren't the only ones who can get in on the giving-back action: The Pepsi Refresh Project will award more than $20 million in 2010. To learn more, or to apply for a grant, visit www.refresheverything.com. To read more about the Demi/Bacon showdown, visit Tonic.com.
