Americans Invaded A Country On Minecraft And Planted Flags Everywhere

Small Danish towns and villages have been blown to pieces and replaced by tanks and American flags.

This is, of course, happening in the online game "Minecraft," where the Danish government in April built an exact replica of the country. The enormous model, which was created using geological map data, consisted of 4 trillion "Minecraft" building blocks and was intended to be used for educational purposes.

So, naturally, gamers are blowing it up and putting 'Murican flags everywhere.

Although the Danish government initially banned users from bringing in-game dynamite into the map, it took players less than two weeks to discover a loophole: Instead of using dynamite on its own, they could bring into the map a mining cart loaded with dynamite and use it to wreak havoc.

Here's what part of "Minecraft" Denmark looks like now:

The government of Denmark doesn't seem too perturbed by the new additions.

A spokesperson from the Danish GeoData Agency told The Register:

We consider that as a nature of playing Minecraft -- elements are broken down and new are being created. Therefore we will not reboot the demonstration of Denmark in Minecraft. But occasionally we will rebuild minor areas if buildings are removed and nothing new is being created.

Looks like we really can't have nice things.
