Dennis Quaid Divorce: A Look Back On Actor's Past Marriages

IT'S OVER! A Look Back At Dennis Quaid's Marriages

Guess the third time wasn't the charm for Dennis Quaid.

After six years of marriage, Quaid and wife Kimberly Buffington-Quaid are calling it quits. TMZ reported Friday that Buffington-Quaid had filed to divorce the actor, requesting spousal support and attorney's fees. Her rep later confirmed the news.

According to the divorce filing obtained by TMZ, Buffington-Quaid states that "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities ... that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

The pair, who were married in July 2004, have two children together, 4-year-old twins, Zoe Grace and Thomas Boone. They reportedly have a temporary custody agreement in place that guarantees each party time with the the kids.

Divorce is a road Quaid has traveled down before. The actor met his first wife, actress P.J. Soles, on the set of the 1978 film "Our Winning Season," in which they both had minor roles. The pair were married from 1978 to 1983.

Shortly after, Quaid was engaged to actress Lea Thompson, whom he met on the set of 1983's "Jaws 3D". The couple called off their engagement three years later.

But perhaps better to known to the public is Quaid's marriage to Meg Ryan, with whom he has a son, 19-year-old aspiring actor Jack Quaid. The pair married on Valentine's Day in 1991 after meeting on the set of the film "Innerspace." In 2000, the couple divorced amid rumors of Ryan's affair with "Proof of Life" co-star Russell Crow. But eight years later, Ryan accused Quaid of cheating on her: "Dennis was not faithful to me for a very long time, and that was very painful," the actress told InStyle magazine in September 2008. "I found out more about that after I was divorced."
