Well color us confused. Back in Februrary when Dennis Quaid bought this Pacific Palisades gem with soon-to-be ex-wife Kimberly Buffington, we figured that the home was part of the spousal or child support arrangement.
Now that the house is back on the market, we're not sure whether it means a change in status for the divorcing couple or if they're just very, very picky about real estate.
Quaid and Buffington bought the home together for $3.1 million, and now they're looking to make at least a $50,000 profit on the sale. The four bedroom, 4.5 bathroom home has views of the ocean, city and coastline. Built in the contemporary style, the home has 3,421 square feet of living space and an open floor plan that flows seamlessly into a backyard. Outdoors, there's a salt water pool and spa. And, as this is a celeb home, the property is gated and private.
Real estate blogger Real Estalker, who first wrote about the listing, notes that the family made a few changes to the home in the short time they've owned it. From Real Estalker:
Current listing photos show Mister and Missus Quaid made some small but important cosmetic changes in their brief ownership of the home that include darkening the hardwood floors, painting the striated wood cabinetry in the kitchen snow white, replacing the wall-to-wall carpeting in the master bedroom with espresso brown hardwood floors and eliminating one of the two walk-in closets in the master suite in order to accommodate a raised sitting area.
Quaid and Buffington got married July 2004 and are the parents of young twins. They filed for divorce March 2012 and then dropped the petition, but filed for divorce again Nov. 2012, notes HuffPost Divorce. They once shared a 8,300-square-foot home in Pacific Palisades, but they reportedly sold it for $9.5 million at the end of 2011.
